What natural disasters teach us

Of course, the first comment we ask is…”Is everyone O.K?”

When we see those T.V. interviews with devastated homeowners in front of a flattened house,

they usually say…we are all O.K. The rest is just “stuff” and could be replaced…but usually is not for good reason.

Our neighbors had major basement flooding recently and hauled out stuff they had been meaning to donate or discard.

They started over, but replaced only what was necessary, glad to have less clutter, even though it

was accomplished in such a traumatic way. Now, if we could only do that without a flood…..
